I'm done

Folks, I'm packing it in.

I've enjoyed my time away too much. I don't want to continue this blog. Sorry.

I will instead be contributing regularly again to the Baseball-Reference.com Stat of the Day blog.

Also I am getting rid of my entire collection. If you want any cards, particularly from 1971, 1973, or 1978, let me know by emailing 78topps at gmail dot com. I'll take any relic or auto cards from the following players in return: Mattingly, T Gwynn, Mike Schmidt, Baines, Raines. Others considered as well. Trades will be in your favor--I'll give you as much as I can in return for whatever you want.

Sorry to hear. But understandable. If I had any extra time (which I don't) or your statistical knowledge (which I definitely don't), I'd continue it for you.

I'd love some of the '71s, but I don't have any GU/autos of those players. I'll email you in a couple of days and see if you have interest in anything else.

I echo everything Night Owl said. Sad to hear but completely understandable. I was thinking of doing a similar blog once I get the last two cards I need for my '90 Fleer set but it takes so much time and energy to do a blog like yours. I'm afraid I don't have any relics you need for trade but I'm sure someone does. I'd just like to say thanks, Andy for your help getting me started w/APAD and your 88 Topps blog was helped me get back into collecting after a 12-year hiatus so thanks, I think =) anyway take care and I may have to visit baseball-reference more often now. Cheers.

I'm interested in giving your 73's a good home, but also don't have any "hit" cards of the players you are looking for.

Good luck doing whatever it is one does when they aren't collecting baseball cards!

Sorry to hear that you're packing it in. I've really enjoyed the blogs so far. These have been some of the most researched blogs around.

I'd be interested in any stray White Sox cards. I'll see what I can do on a return.

I'm sorry to see you go, but family and friends and life are a lot more important than little flaps of cardboard and talking about them on the internet.

I will say that it was your 88 Topps blog that got me interested in collecting again, and the last several months have been great fun, so I thank you for that.

Good luck in your future adventures.

Nooo! How will we know who wins the series between The Mudvilla Nine and the New York Knights?

Do I need to do that myself?

Off to spend my work hours finding the answer to that riddle.

Best of luck.

Sad to see you go, but happy that its for a good reason. Enjoy your time and know that we will all always welcome you back with open arms. I'm interested in any Mets cards you are not attached too - i do not have cards of the players you are looking for, but I would pay or try to find something else for you. Take care and be in touch

Hope all is well, and take care. I tell you, 88 & 78 topps blogsites were absolutely great.

I am sory to hear you are not able to continue. You have done a wonderful job with your 88 and 78 blogs! I completely understand getting out, though, as I cam very close myself to shutting down Tribecards. As you said, the time away from it gives you a new perspective, or perhaps a different one anyway. Good luck to you! And, who knows, somewhere down the road, the call of the blog may once again lure you back.

I enjoyed these and I enjoy what you do with the Stat of the Day. I can understand you putting other things in life ahead of baseball cards and I hope all of that clears up. For better or worse, you've inspired me to go through my favorite set (1972 Topps) in a similar way you did with 1988.

Best of luck to you and your family.

Andy - You have been a motivator for my blog/autograph project. Do keep in touch with me! I have a Tony Gwynn you may be interested in ... I'll drop you an e-mail.

Sad to see you go. I'm sure you're moving on to other things more fulfilling, but you've given me and others a great place to remember and enjoy cards I'll always treasure. Thanks.

Thanks for another fun blog (that I'm again way late to). Now that a few years have gone by, any chance at all that you'll get the vintage-baseballcard-blogging itch and resurrect it someday? That would be glorious if you came out of retirement to finish out 78. We tragically didn't get to the League Leader cards or 4-on-1 rookies! Anyways, now I'll move on to the 88 Score Rookie & Traded Set blog. (and I have also been enjoying High Heat Stats.) Thanks again.
